President Rodrigo Duterte had no choice but to cancel everything on his schedule on Thursday, because of a migraine and spinal problems.

“I was supposed to go yesterday, but I had this spinal thing going crazy again,” he said. “I had  a migraine… I vomited in the morning so I said I could not make it.”

According to her, he had a terrible headache and his spinal problem was caused by when he got into an accident in a motorcycle spill when he was 67 years old.

That day, Duterte was supposed to visit the wake of PO1 Gary Cabaguing in Samar. “I usually go to places where there’s military man or a policemen who dies in the line of duty. That’s all I can give—honor them—my presence, to be there and give them a snappy salute for dying for their country.

He was also scheduled to visit and look into the condition of PO1 Nestor Villanueva, confined at the St. Paul’s Hospital in Leyte. Villanueva was injured during an anti-drug op.

The President said that he loses two to three cops or soldiers every day because of the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the government. He also talked about dying for the country out of patriotism, as he urged the military to defend the sovereignty of the Philippines.

“When the time comes, I will be there to join you. Lead. Mas marunong kayo sa akin. But I’ll be with you in defending this republic.”
