Authorities grabbed a suspected floating shabu manufacturing laboratory off Subic Bay on Monday evening, July 11, and captured all 4 of its Chinese group.
Amid their inspection of the assumed fishing vessel, individuals from the Philippine National Police Anti-Illegal Drugs Group found shabu fabricating equipments said to be fit for making 25 kilos a day, and almost 1/2 kilo of associated shabu which estimated to cost up to P2.2 million.
The all Chinese national crews captured, which includes a chemist, were recognized as Shu Fook Leung, Kwok Tung Chan, Wing Fai Lo, and Kam Wah Kwok – were reported to come from Hong Kong. They purportedly touched base in the Philippines 7 days prior on load up a Cathay Pacific flight.
It was not yet known to the public, in any case, how and where they boarded the ship.
Authorities thinks that the recouped shabu was only a little part of the newly delivered bunch that had been grabbed by nearby contacts in Cagayan, Pangasinan, and Subic while the ship was still in the open sea.
A couple of hours after the seizure of the said "floating shabu lab", PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, Subic Mayor Jay Khonghun, and Zambales PNP Provincial Director Christopher Mateo boarded the vessel.
The Mayor of Subic also added that as per the police information, the fishing boat originated from Hong Kong and entered the nation through Cagayan, and later cruised to Ilocos, then Pangasinan, until it was checked entering Subic Bay.
