Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa who is allegedly connected to drug trafficking, has surrendered to police authorities, according to Malacañang Tuesday.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella, Espinosa is now under custody of Philippine National Police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, however, his son Kerwin remains at large.
President Rodrigo Duterte has given “shoot-on-sight order" to the PNP if they resist arrest and endanger the lives of the arresting officers within 24 hours which has now resulted to the surrender of Mayor Espinosa.

It was reported that about P1.9 million worth of 237 grams of suspected shabu were recovered by authorities in a buy-bust operation last Thursday near the houses of the Espinosas.
Arrested during the operation were Espinosa’s two bodyguards and three employees.
